Price: the renewal decides it
This comparison is the clearest example of why the intro price is not enough. Both plans are $2.99 a month on the pricing page. Hostinger asks you to prepay 48 months, so the rate holds for the full three years. SiteGround asks for 12 months and then renews at $17.99 a month, so years two and three cost $431.76 between them.
If you only need hosting for a year, the two are the same price and SiteGround's extras come free. If you need it for three, Hostinger is about $360 cheaper.
What SiteGround gives you for the money
Daily backups with 30 days of restore points, on every plan.
Google Cloud infrastructure and data centres in the US, UK, EU, Singapore and Australia.
Support by chat, phone and ticket, 24/7.
Managed WordPress tooling: automatic updates and, from GrowBig up, staging sites.
What Hostinger gives you for less
3 websites and 20 GB of SSD storage on Premium, against 1 website and 10 GB on StartUp.
Unmetered bandwidth rather than a visits-per-month sizing.
hPanel, Hostinger's own control panel, with a one-click WordPress installer.
Weekly backups, daily on the Unlimited plan for a dollar more a month.
Who should choose which
Choose Hostinger for a personal site, a portfolio or a small business brochure where the budget matters more than daily backups. Choose SiteGround for a site that earns money every day and would be expensive to lose, and put the $17.99 renewal into the budget from the start rather than discovering it in year two.
